Join us at our monthly regular meeting on August 26, 2019. Local activist and educator Lou Weaver will join us to teach us about the different sexual orientations and gender identities encompassed by the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, including the unique and shared struggles of these communities and how those of us who are not members of the community can show our support.
Lou is a queer transgender man and a leader in Houston’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. With trans healthcare as a key component of his advocacy portfolio, he has helped educate healthcare providers and medical student groups on culturally competent care for the LGBTQ communities.
